About the Authors:

Robert DeLauro, MSW, ACSW, is a freelance writer and consultant with the Labor Management Project in New York City.

Claudia Dewane, DEd, LCSW, a clinical social worker for 30 years with a specialty in trauma work, is an associate professor of social work at Temple University. She has a profound bilateral hearing loss and is a hearing loss support specialist certified through the Hearing Loss Association of America.

Nadine M. Hasenecz is a freelance writer living in Bethlehem, PA.

Jennifer Mellace is a Maryland-based freelance writer whose articles have been published in various regional and national publications.
